First Shot

Blogging is such a new world to me. Until recently, I have never really known what it meant to 'blog'. I have heard other people use the term, but what I didn't realize was that I didn't know what it meant.

I've been exposed to creative writing in grade school and high school and have even written a few of my own, although I don't believe those were good enough to have even been included in our school magazine. What Iwrote were silly 'tula' or tagalog poems that were childlishly written. I didn't then and still don't believe now that those were publish worthy.

What I had yet to learn was that creative writing is not completely useless in real or modern life, as I had thought it was. I learned that you could actually use it to let other people hear your own voice, thoughts, and emotions effectively. With what modern technology provides us today, we can actually do that through the internet. I am amazed at the number of blogs people write online everyday and at the fact that most of them are not even creative writing but mere expressions of what some bloggers feel about certain issues in different areas, such as entertainment, politics, food, etc.

So I've decided to give blogging a shot. I have no idea yet what I might be interested to write about in the future. I admit I have no gift of words. I just hope it doesn't bore readers, if there would be any, to death. This piece of writing might seem very amateurish to other more experienced bloggers who come across this page. Well, they are not far from being accurate. I just want to know if I have a shot at this or if I suck so bad that I don't deserve to even write a single letter ever again. I sure hope it isn't the latter.
